I have learned so much in the modules included in this course. I like that they gave us a lot of time and that there are extensions available so that we students can work at our own pace and enjoy the learning experience.
It was also my first time being introduced to the subject of prosthetics and the products that are used in that area. I think it’s very interesting, so it definitely opened and broadened my knowledge towards makeup and the industry. My tutor and the support team have assisted and helped me in a very effective way because they were always eager to help and have always responded right away, and were very clear and practical.
I also want to thank my tutor, Ms. Nolene, for the support, the encouraging words, advice and her assistance throughout the course. I also appreciate the Institute itself for really caring for its students.
I would definitely recommend this course to those who want to study makeup and beginners who want to practice their skills, and basically anyone interested in the world of makeup artistry. This is a good course to be in.
This course offers a great introduction to the world of makeup artistry.
Despite being a freelance makeup artist for many years prior to the course, I got to learn even more techniques to add to my arsenal.
The range of topics is very expansive, and I appreciated that it included an assorted amount of topics that can really help you decide where you would want to focus on in the future.
Like many others, I felt like my life was being put on hold due to the pandemic, travel restrictions, worldwide lockdowns and stay-at-home mandates. Everything was transferred over to digital, and something as hands-on as makeup artistry seemed like an impossible feat to learn at this time. That was until I found IMUA. Being online even before Covid, I knew that they were well established and not just moving to digital to accommodate the situation haphazardly.
Every module is in-depth and detailed, with accompanying videos that even the most beginner blossoming artists can understand. The entire course goes through the different areas of Makeup Artistry, which is vital for anyone who doesn't know what specific industry they want yet. I lean towards that editorial/fashion side of makeup, but I feel so much more confident knowing that I have the basic skills to do bridal, film/TV and basic special effects makeup and vice versa.
Being a self-paced course was also incredibly helpful as I have a job and would need to balance it with my studies. The tutors were so helpful and super speedy with their replies to my questions and concerns, as were my fellow students and alumni on the Facebook group. It was such a positive and welcoming environment and a great motivator to see others' creativity.
The course was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed each of the 12 modules.
The modules really allowed me to touch on makeup applications I had not done before and although at times I found them challenging I learned so much from them, this helped grow my confidence, creativity and skills in makeup.
My online tutor was very helpful and always there to help with any questions or concerns I had.
The video guides were clear and easy to understand taking you step by step through each module.
Lastly the Facebook group set up was a really special place to be in touch with other students for moral support and to see the work from others and their creativity!

I have absolutely loved this course! The knowledge and experience is definitely one-of-a-kind! Along with the quick responses from the Tutor as well as Student Support, the Facebook group introduced me to some amazingly talented people.
It was so fun to be able to talk to and work with other students who have the same interests as you and they are so unbelievably supportive! This course is self paced which I absolutely loved as I did not feel rushed or pressured to turn in any assignment within a certain time frame. This allowed me to take my time and show the tutor the work I am capable of producing. The tutors were not rude at all and their feedback was so incredibly helpful.
I am so thankful to have come across this course and cannot wait to see where this new set of knowledge and skills take me!!

I remember starting out in makeup watching YouTube videos and eventually, I thought of being certified as a Professional Makeup Artist. And then, I stumbled upon The Institute of Makeup Artistry. I then saw that they have in-depth modules and it's very affordable. I can say that my money and time were well spent.
Every module has an assignment and going through it is pretty manageable. They thoroughly explained each procedure as you go along and also there are videos, links, and photos in the lessons that you can refer to.
I also practised with the face chart that comes along with the module. The remarks that the mentor gives are helpful because she points out ways to improve your work to avoid difficulties in the future. I would definitely recommend makeup enthusiasts or makeup artists to enrol here.

I was searching for over a year for a good online makeup school since my life is so busy and my schedule is insane. I stumbled across IMUA and instantly decided that this was my school!
I enrolled the day I found it and I worked at my own pace and made it through the course on time, despite having a crazy schedule.
Student Support and the Tutors are pretty quick at responding to you and the grading process is fast as well.
I learned a lot and intend to have a very successful career in makeup artistry!

I found this course an excellent addition to my qualification I already have within the beauty industry. Within 2 months of qualifying I have worked on a film doing SFX Makeup and I now teach theatrical makeup in a local college.
